King: Tottenham talks advance for Solanke after Bournemouth absence

Bryan King has suggested that transfer talks between Tottenham and AFC Bournemouth for Dominic Solanke are advancing.

The ex-Spurs scout claims that the 26-year-old has been a long-term target for the North London club.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X (7 August), Tottenham are pushing to sign Solanke, with the Bournemouth striker giving the green light to the transfer.

Solanke was absent from the Cherries’ 1-0 pre-season friendly victory against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday (4 August).

And King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes this indicates talks are already at an advanced stage.

“Spurs have wanted Solanke for a while now,” King said.

“His name was mentioned during the January transfer window. If he was missing from the Bournemouth squad for a pre-season match, that could be due to an injury.

“However, I would say it more likely indicates that Spurs have shown an interest and talks are now advancing between the clubs.”

Tottenham to sign Dominic Solanke from AFC Bournemouth?

Supporters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have been crying out for a big-name signing.

Whether or not this would satisfy that craving remains to be seen. However, it is hard to deny that when it comes to Premier League strikers, this is a big-name player.

Solanke scored 18 Premier League goals for Bournemouth last season and many would therefore back him to increase that total playing for Spurs.

If Ange Postecoglou wants the player, and Solanke wants the move, then Daniel Levy must ensure he gets this deal across the line.

Spurs need a number nine, and while Solanke won’t necessarily be a guaranteed success in North London, he does have the potential to become a hit at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In other Tottenham news, one player has sent the club an exit ultimatum after a recent transfer decision.
