Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has hit out at “some” fans who haven’t supported him throughout his stuttering start to the season.
The 25-year-old has struggled under new manager Arne Slot so far this season, starting just 11 of his 18 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 1038 minutes of action.
Nunez has made just one goal contribution in his last five games for the current Premier League leaders, the opener in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Aston Villa earlier in the season.
The striker’s goal drought persisted during Liverpool’s 1-0 Champions League victory over Girona on Tuesday (December 10), a result that kept them atop the new league phase standings.

Slot’s number nine may be struggling to find his form, but Liverpool remain at the summit of the Premier League with the hectic festive period well underway.
The Merseyside club are also the only team left in the Champions League with a 100 per cent record, winning all six of their games, scoring 13 goals, and conceding just one in the process.
Nunez took to Instagram after the 1-0 win over Girona, thanking the fans for their support while also acknowledging those who aren’t backing him, saying: “They are not all, they are some. Thank you reds for your support, we are all still together.”
Liverpool’s attention will return to the Premier League on Saturday (December 14) after last round’s Merseyside derby with Everton was postponed due to bad weather caused by Storm Darragh.
