Liverpool could turn to Borussia Dortmund star Karim Adeyemi as uncertainty remains over the future of Mohamed Salah.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former England international Paul Robinson the 22-year-old is a ‘very similar’ type of player to Salah, 32, and that he could be the ideal replacement for Liverpool.
The right-winger scored a 31-minute hattrick in Dortmund’s 7-1 Champions League demolition of Scottish Champions Celtic on Tuesday (October 1).
Salah has also been electric so far this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in Liverpool’s first nine games across all competitions.
Liverpool eye Karim Adeyemi as Mohamed Salah replacement
The legendary Egyptian is one of three hugely important Liverpool players who are out of contract at the end of the season, alongside Trent Alexander Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.
“He’s a very similar style player to Salah”, Robinson told Football Insider.
“He’s one for the future, he’s still only 22 years old, four caps with Germany.
“He can play anywhere on that three that plays behind the main striker, but actually, as you said, then he comes off the wide, cuts in.
“Very, very similar to Mo Salah, the way that he plays, I don’t think it’s only going to be Liverpool looking at him, I think there will be other clubs around Europe looking at him.
“He’s the type of player that would come in and have an impact, he’s a very good young talent and I think he’s only going to get better as well.”
