Barcelona have reportedly started to consider alternatives to Nico Williams this summer, as the Basque winger’s arrival continues to look difficult. After Athletic Club gave him the number 10 shirt, most sources report that he is still yet to respond to Barcelona.
The Blaugrana are reportedly looking at other options for the left wing position, one of which is Luis Diaz. The Colombian winger was reportedly the preference of Sporting Director Deco before the decision was made to go for Williams, and now is an option again, with MD reporting that Barcelona will have the same budget as they do for Nico Williams move, that is to say €62m.

Nevertheless, The Athletic say that only offers well above €58m would be sufficient to even get Liverpool to the negotiating table, while adding that no such offers have arrived at their door.
Diaz, like another of their alternatives Rafael Leao, seems some way out of their price range. Given the transfer window is into its final weeks too, Liverpool would probably want more for Diaz than they might have at the start of the window, when finding a replacement would have been easier.
