Conflicting reports have emerged about Nico Williams’ intentions this summer, with one source claiming he has said yes to their offer, and others claiming the Blaugrana are yet to receive a reponse from him.
The 22-year-old winger continues to prepare for the Liga season, which for Athletic Club starts on Thursday, and Los Leones have fueled the idea that he will remain in Bilbao by handing him the number 10 shirt. According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have started looking at alternatives for the winger position, one of which is Kingsley Coman.
Barça have started discussing wingers internally as there’s still no breakthrough in Nico Williams deal.
Kingsley Coman can leave Bayern on initial loan, he’s among options on shortlist.

The Bayern Munich winger would be available on loan this summer, and knows Hansi Flick from their time together in Bavaria. Meanwhile AC Milan winger and Rafael Leao and Liverpool winger Luis Diaz are also named as options they like, as per MD.

It may well be that Barcelona are considering alternatives, and certainly Coman adds up as a potential short-term recruit. However the other options are likely to cost even more than Nico Williams would, with neither Milan nor Liverpool likely to be open to a sale at this stage. It seemed a slim chance the Blaugrana would be able to afford them as it were, and they will likely need a large sale to consider spending big again.
