Dele Alli has made positive progress with a view to earning a new Everton contract, according to The Athletic.
The outlet reported on 9 August that the former England international is training with the Toffees despite being out of contract.
The 28-year-old has “made positive strides” in his recovery and is working towards a potential new deal at Goodison Park.
Dele Alli could make Everton return
Everybody knows the quality that he could bring to Goodison from his Spurs days but it will take plenty of time for him to come up to speed.
The struggles of the attacking midfielder have been well documented and Everton wants to be the club to give him a leg up in his career.
It seems clear that Sean Dyche sees something in the former Tottenham star and wants him as part of his squad moving forward.
Alli hasn’t featured for the Toffees since two appearances in the 2022/23 season and could be eying a return in the upcoming campaign.
With the ex-MK Dons starlet in training at Finch Farm, it appears that a contract could be on the table for the future if everything goes to plan.
Everton supporters can be excited about what sort of player could turn up at Goodison next season but will need to be patient with the midfielder after so long out.
In other Everton news, Alan Myers has issued an update as the Toffees now want to sign a £25m-rated ‘Explosive’ central midfielder.
