'Looks worrying' - Wenham shares Ange Postecoglou 'Pressure' verdict at Tottenham

John Wenham doesn’t think Ange Postecoglou is under pressure at Tottenham.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes the club’s start to the Premier League season makes for “worrying” reading on paper. However, he has noted the difficult matches they have had.

Spurs have 10 points after seven Premier League games this season. The North London side have won three, lost three, and drawn one.

However, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels as though the performances have deserved much more, and there have been signs of progress.

“I don’t think Postecoglou is under pressure,” Wenham said.

“Anybody who has watched our games will know that we should have got at least one point, if not three, in every match that we’ve played so far this season.

“Yes, it is our worst start in the Premier League for 16 years, which looks worrying. However, we have played some very difficult games already.

“Therefore, Postecoglou might be under some pressure from people on social media. However, the match-going support are still fully behind him.”

Ange Postecoglou under pressure at Tottenham?

Spurs let a 2-0 lead slip to lose 3-2 against Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Sunday (6 October). Had they won that match, Postecoglou’s side would have headed into the October international break on the back of six straight wins.

However, the dramatic nature of the defeat, as well as the performances of some players, was particularly concerning.

Therefore, it is only natural to ask questions of the manager. Postecoglou will know that he needs to turn things around in North London.

However, it seems as though he will have time to do just that.
