Man City 115 Charges: New hearing date emerges

Manchester City have learned their hearing against the 115 charges handed to them by the Premier League is expected to take place in November following months of delays.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed the outcome may not be made public until late 2025 due to the complex nature of the case.

Man City were dealt 115 charges by the governing body in February 2023 for allegedly breaching the financial fair play (FFP) rules over a nine-year period.

O’Rourke admitted it “doesn’t look good” for the Premier League champions after Everton and Nottingham Forest both received points deductions last season for breaching the league’s spending rules.

Football Insider previously revealed Man City could be relegated to the Championship if they are found guilty.

But the Manchester club are likely to appeal against any potential punishments after their lawyers have been adamant they haven’t done anything wrong.

This issue has already dragged on for more than a year, leaving various stakeholders frustrated about how the case has been handled.

Premier League chief Richard Masters revealed the hearing will take place in the “near future”, with the case now expected to be heard in November.

It emerged recently that Man City have pursued legal action against the governing body regarding the associated party transaction (APT) rules currently in place, with the club claiming the regulations are “unlawful”.

The case is on track to be settled after a two-week private arbitration hearing starting on Monday (10 June), but O’Rourke revealed it’s unlikely to have any impact on the 115 charges.

He suggested Man City could be looking to land the first punches in their legal battle against the Premier League ahead of the November hearing, with Football Insider revealing the English champions expect to win their upcoming case.
