Man City Exclusive: Significant Ederson update after 'massive' offer

Man City have opened the door for Ederson to leave the club this summer amid interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that City are willing to see the goalkeeper leave, but will demand a “significant” fee for his services.

Pep Guardiola has hinted that the goalkeeper will have to make a decision about his future, with offers already on the table.

Football Insider revealed on 24 July that City are holding crunch talks with the goalkeeper, who is weighing up a “massive” offer from the Saudi Pro League.

This comes as Kevin de Bruyne has also been linked with the switch to the Middle East before Guardiola insisted he would remain at the Eithad.

Ederson future at Man City up in the air after massive offer

Ederson joined City from Benfica for £35million in 2017, and he has since made 332 appearances, lifting six Premier League titles, four League Cups, two FA Cups, the Champions League and a Club World Cup.

However, City are considering allowing him to leave after a mixed season last time out despite helping City win the Premier League once again.

He made 43 appearances across all competitions last season, keeping 16 clean sheets, while his ball-playing ability remained a crucial part of Guardiola’s play.

Now aged 30, the goalkeeper is the latest superstar name targeted by clubs in Saudi Arabia as they look to expand the quality and reputation of the Saudi Pro League.

Both Ederson and De Bruyne are viewed as statement signings for the division, with a big-money deal already on the table for the Brazilian.

Guardiola is willing to see his goalkeeper leave should he decide to accept the offer from Saudi Arabia, with his future now up in the air.
