Man United loanee Jadon Sancho responds to major development with ex-teammate

Chelsea’s on-loan Man United winger Jadon Sancho has paid tribute to Marco Reus after his former teammate celebrated a major career milestone in America.

The pair are no strangers to each other, with Reus having played for Borussia Dortmund throughout the whole of Sancho’s time with the club between 2017 and 2021, as well as back in Germany on loan last term.

This summer saw the German himself finally leave the Bundesliga outfit, moving to the USA to join MLS outfit LA Galaxy in what has already proved to be a successful move.

While Sancho found the net for the second time in as many games to help Chelsea beat Tottenam on Sunday (8 December), it was also a productive weekend for Reus.

A 2-1 win for LA Galaxy over New York Red Bulls in the MLS play-off final secured the 35-year-old the first league title of his career, with the Man United loanee keen to congratulate to his old teammate.

Taking to Instagram Sancho included a post from Reus with the trophy on his own story, along with a caption describing the German as “The best” accompanied by a cross fingers and loveheart emoji.

It should probably not be a shock to see Sancho sending messages such as this to Reus given their past history at Dortmund.

The winger has recently interacted with posts from some of those he has left behind at Man United, such as Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.

As a result, it would make sense that he is going to want to show his support for other individuals who have played significant parts in his career, as Reus did.

Indeed, there will not be many people in football who are not delighted to see the German finally get his hands on a league title.

The winger showed incredible loyalty and suffered some considerable heartbreak while attempting to win a Bundesliga with Dortmund, something he was never able to do.

Now though he can, at long last, put a league title on his CV, and given the ability he has shown over the course of his career, that is undoubtedly something he deserves to do.
