Manchester United are keeping tabs on Sevilla youngster Juanlu Sanchez, but they are not the only European giants to be tracking the winger.

The 21-year-old made his Sevilla debut back in December 2021 but started featuring regularly in the first team last season.

After impressing on loan with Segunda Division side Mirandes in the 2022/23 campaign, Juanlu returned to Sevilla and made 37 appearances in all competitions last season.

He was rewarded with a place in Spain’s Olympic squad over the summer, making four appearances in the competition and scoring in the semi-finals as the Spaniards went on to win gold.

Spanish publication AS report that Manchester United were watching Juanlu during the tournament in Paris and were impressed enough to continuing keeping tabs on him.

The report states that Manchester United scouts have been watching the winger in Sevilla’s home games so far this season, although both have resulted in defeats.

Real Madrid have been tracking Juanlu for longer than the Red Devils, watching him for months, and will rival Manchester United for his signature.

AS report that the 21-year-old has a release clause in his Sevilla contract worth just €20m (£16.85m), which could represent a bargain signing.

His current deal runs until 2026 and his club will look to extend that contract with an increased release clause in the near future.

The young winger is clearly catching the eye, but is yet to add goals to his game with just four scored at club level in his career so far and only one in La Liga.

He will look to improve on that record and kickstart Sevilla’s season, which has yielded just two points from four games so far, when they host Getafe on Saturday.
