Michael Stewart in hysterics after what Alan Hutton said about Rangers

Michael Stewart was in hysterics as Alan Hutton was quizzed on Rangers ahead of the Scottish League Cup final against Celtic on 15 December.

Rangers have a huge week ahead with a Europa League encounter with Tottenham at Ibrox on 12 December before attentions turn to the Old Firm Derby just three days later.

After the recent 3-0 win against Ross County, Hutton was asked if he was more confident going into those two games under Philippe Clement.

Speaking on the Scottish Football Social Club, he said, “Yeah” with a long pause before Michael Stewart let out a smirk which quickly turned into laughter.

Currie questioned Hutton as to whether he could “see two positive results” coming for Rangers to which the latter responded with “I truly hope so”, before the trio burst into laughter.

Philippe Clement may need a win over Celtic to keep Rangers job

The recent upturn in form has alleviated some of the pressure on the Belgian after what had been a dismal start to the campaign.

Seven wins in their last eight in all competitions has seen the Gers improve not only results-wise but also performance-wise with their 6-0 hammering of Kilmarnock a standout.

Nonetheless, failure to beat Celtic in the final could see that pressure return for Clement, who has yet to beat his near rivals since arriving in Glasgow.

The recent performances should provide some optimism ahead of the next two encounters and with Spurs not in the greatest of form themselves, there may be no better time to host them at Ibrox.

Ultimately, the ability to win a trophy this season could determine the future of Clement who, if they suffer defeat in their next two games, would have a remarkable task on his hands to win back the trust of supporters.

In other Rangers news, Derek Ferguson has given the seal of approval to the appointment of a well-known figure at Ibrox.
