Mikel Arteta should be going for a £30m striker instead of Joshua Zirkzee after missing out on Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko had been long rumoured with a move to Arsenal but that deal is now out of the picture this summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Benjamin Sekso is set to extend his stay at RB Leipzig and pen a new deal.
Attention will now turn to other targets and instead of Bologna’s Zirkzee, Arteta should be trying to sign another forward from Serie A.
Arsenal should try to sign Albert Gudmundsson
Instead of Zirkzee, Arsenal should try to sign Genoa striker Albert Gudmundsson, who is thought to have a £30m price tag.
The 26-year-old was in fine form for the Italian outfit last term, netting 16 goals whilst laying on five assists.
Gudmundsson has a prolific record for Iceland, too, scoring 10 goals in 23 starts operating off both flanks, as a second striker and at centre-forward.
Though, he isn’t just about goals, his game is much more than that.

Albert Gudmundsson statistics
Gudmundsson is a very well-rounded forward as his FBref statistics amplify.
The Genoa man ranks in the top six per cent for passes attempted and top 10 per cent for progressive passes compared to his positional peers across Europe.
Clearly, he likes to get involved in the build-up player – which is a requirement Arteta demands of his number nine.
Further, Gudmundsson sits in the top six per cent for shot-creating actions, evincing his terrific playmaking ability.
He’d be a great addition to Arsenal.
