Farhad Moshiri has pledged to convert his £451million loan to Everton into shares if the club are not sold before the new regulations on shareholder loans come into effect, according to The Guardian.
The newspaper reported via their website on 28 November that the Toffees owner is keen to keep his word after agreeing to waive the debt when The Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club goes through.
However, with the takeover pending Premier League approval and the Premier League’s new regulations on shareholder loans applicable starting 11 January, Moshiri has an alternative in mind to ensure there is no shareholder debt remaining, as per sources.
Dan Friedkin and Co are expected to come into power in December, but should that drag on further, the British-Iranian businessman could turn his loan into shares and, therefore, save the Merseyside outfit £21.3m and avoid a PSR breach.

Everton and the fans have suffered a lot under Moshiri’s ownership and it is evident that he checked out of the club a while ago.
Everyone associated with the Toffees are hopeful that The Friedkin Group’s arrival will be the dawn of a new era on Merseyside.
However, Moshiri’s commitment to waiving the £451m is appreciable as he is seemingly keen to allow the new owners to come in without that burden on their shoulders.
Nevertheless, it is highly unlikely that The Friedkin Group’s takeover of the Premier League club will not be finalised before 11 January, with the process now in its final stages [TEAMtalk].
It would be ideal if the takeover is complete in early December as it would give Friedkin some time to plan for the January transfer window.
He will also have a decision to make regarding Sean Dyche, whose contract at Goodison Park expires at the end of the season, although he is focused on completing the takeover for the time being [Alan Myers].
In other Everton news, these European giants remain interested in this Toffees star ahead of the January transfer window.
