'Never the case' - Alan Myers issues verdict on potential delays with Everton takeover

Alan Myers believes that the Everton takeover is not delayed and was never expected to be completed before the end of November.

The Sky Sports news editor claims that people suggesting the process would be done in two or three weeks were wide of the mark.

It was expected to be completed before the end of 2024 and in the final weeks of the year, but not in September or October.

Via X, he wrote: “I saw people suggesting it would be done in 2-3 weeks, that was never the case, was always going to be late Nov early Dec. There’s a lot to do, and even when it is approved by the PL there is then a period where that is verified by an independent body, main thing is all is good!”

It’s a relief that everything is going well and there are no more snags surrounding the takeover.

Toffees fans have every right to be apprehensive as they’ve seen numerous false dawns in the past but things have not gotten this close before.

Farhad Moshiri has driven the club to the ground and the Goodison Park faithful cannot wait to see the back of him.

Hopefully, the Friedkin Group quickly understand why fans hated Moshiri and start distinguishing themselves from him right from the outset.

They know how to run football clubs in a professional manner and they can use their expertise in helping Everton go to the next level.

With the new stadium set to be ready in time for next season, beginning a new ownership era inside Bramley-Moore Dock will be extremely poetic.
