Newcastle fans amazed by what Anthony Gordon has just said

Newcastle United fans were wowed by Anthony Gordon after the winger shared a message to departing England boss Gareth Southgate.

Taking to social media following the news, Gordon posted “Thank you for giving me my debut! All the best in your next chapter, Gareth”.

This was despite playing just four minutes at Euro 2024 in a decision which landed the England boss with plenty of stick from Magpies fans.

His lack of game time was a source of frustration to supporters at St James’ Park, as Football Insider reported when images emerged on social media.

Supporters have praised the Newcastle winger for his attitude and maturity throughout the tournament, which has now extended into the aftermath of losing the final.

Gordon also posted a message to the supporters after the disappointment of losing the final, thanking them for their backing.

Fans praised the winger for his message and expressed their desire to see him back at St James’ Park next season, playing regularly and taking the next step in his career.

Meanwhile, speculation has begun about who will be appointed to replace Southgate in a move which could decide the future of Gordon’s international career.

Many have pointed to Under-21s boss Lee Carsley, who has worked with several senior internationals including Gordon and could get the best out of him.
