Newcastle United fans are fearing the deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace could collapse after a new image emerged on social media.
Palace’s summer internationals returned to training today (7 August) and each was greeted with a social media post – including Guehi, who returned from England duty.
This led fans to speculate that a deal may not be as far down the line as many had assumed, questioning whether they would get it over the line.
Palace have been involved in long-running transfer sagas with late twists in the past. Michael Olise was reportedly set to sign for Chelsea before extending his deal at Selhurst Park last summer.
This has led to fears that this deal may not take place – despite sources saying negotiations between the clubs are continuing and Newcastle are confident a deal will be reached.

Football Insider revealed on 6 August that Newcastle are now in advanced talks to sign the centre-back after agreeing personal terms.
Of course, though, Guehi remains a Crystal Palace player and will continue to train with the club until an official deal is reached and the move is given the green light.
Fans are beginning to fear the worst, however, and have taken to social media to express their doubts over whether Guehi will sign before the transfer deadline.
However, many joked that he was simply returning to Palace to clear out his locker before making the move to St James’ Park.
