Newcastle United fans think they have spotted the root of the club’s injury problems after new footage of Sven Botman emerged.
The clip showed Botman back in individual training as he continues his rehabilitation from a cruciate ligament injury sustained in March.
Fans noted that the level of work he was doing was ahead of the typical recovery schedule for his injury, raising concerns that he was being rushed back.
The concerns emerged as a result of the Dutchman having previously been rushed back from an ACL injury, resulting in the new blow shortly after his return.
Botman’s injury was set to rule him out for around nine months, but a return to on-pitch work just four months later has led to further worries.

Botman featured just 22 times for Newcastle last season as a result of his injury issues, and his return is not scheduled until closer to the end of the year.
A knee injury in September 2023 saw him miss 16 games, before he had surgery on his cruciate ligament in March and has so far missed another 16 games.
As a result, fans are concerned about rushing him back when he is not completely ready, through fears of risking another injury blow.
However, some supporters were allowing themselves to get excited over his potential return.
