Nottingham Forest told to accept Taiwo Awonyi offer - fans react

Nottingham Forest fans have called for the club to accept an offer for Taiwo Awoniyi as he looks set to miss the pre-season tour of Spain.

The striker missed the opening pre-season clash with Chesterfield and will also miss the training camp due to personal issues.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo had also explained after the Chesterfield game that Awoniyi was struggling with a calf injury picked up upon his return to training.

As a result of his extended absences, fans have demanded the club cash in on him despite his talent and ability to lead the line.

Nottingham Forest told to cash in on Taiwo Awonyi after new twist

Awoniyi has missed a combined 35 games across the last two seasons with groin issues, missing 18 in 2023/24 and 17 in 2022/23, leaving Forest without their first-choice striker for long periods.

With his latest absence, fans have become tired of his lack of availability.

Before the start of the transfer window, Football Insider revealed that Awoniyi was expected to covet interest amid the club’s financial trouble.

Supporters are now calling for him to be sold while he still has value, and for the club to invest in signing a new striker to lead the line.
