David Ornstein claims that the Tottenham hierarchy are backing Ange Postecoglou despite the recent run of form.
The Spurs boss is under pressure as his side are currently 12th in the league after 15 games played this season.
The Lilywhites took on an out-of-form Rangers side in the Europa League on Thursday and were lucky to come away with a point from that one.
Ornstein told NBC Sports Soccer: “The pressure is external. Ange Postecoglou is squarely being backed by the Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy.
“Every bit of dialogue that I have had suggests that he is fully supported and they are not thinking about changing Ange Postecoglou.
“Some sections of the fanbase and the wider public might not like to hear that but it is the case, as things stand.
“They’ve put their faith in Ange to develop a younger squad that they hope will pay dividends in the future.”
Ange Postecoglou may not be given too long to turn things around at Tottenham
Spurs find themselves in an extremely tricky position and Daniel Levy is known to be ruthless when it comes to the major decisions at the club.
Mauricio Pochettino had a lot more credit in the bank than Postecoglou and he was sacked for arguably a lot less.
After 15 games, to be in the bottom half of the table does not make for very good reading given the investment into the side.
A loss or bad performance at St Mary’s could be the final straw for the Australian and there would be a valid justification for it.
If the players are indeed playing for him, they will show up and prove that his tactics are working fine.
A section of the fanbase has already turned on the manager, but as things stand, he holds the support of the majority.
