O'Rourke Exclusive: Big Christopher Nkunku update tonight

Chelsea are reluctant to allow Christopher Nkunku to move on amid reported interest from Man United, sources have told Football Insider.

L’Equipe in France have reported (10 November) that the 26-year-old could be a shock target for United in the January transfer window.

Nicolas Jackson is the undisputed first-choice striker for Enzo Maresca, who succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in the summer.

However, Nkunku is just one injury away from starting for Chelsea and has been in good scoring form in his appearances under the Italian boss.

Maresca has been clear that he wants to keep his squad together after huge change during the most recent summer window.

But Nkunku is believed to be unhappy with his situation at Stamford Bridge after arriving in a big-money deal from RB Leipzig in 2023.

Football Insider revealed last month (17 October) that the France international could push for a Chelsea exit if he doesn’t break into the first eleven.

Sources say he would be attracted to a potential Man United move should the opportunity arise, with the player keen to play regular first-team football.

The forward has scored 10 goals already in the 2024-25 campaign – but just one of those strikes has come in the Premier League.

Nkunku has made just one start in the top flight with the bulk of his playing time coming in the Europa Conference League and League Cup.

His contract at Chelsea runs until June 2029.
