O'Rourke Exclusive: Nottingham Forest could accept 'huge' offer for 22-yr-old

Nottingham Forest would reluctantly sell Murillo for a “huge” fee, sources have told Football Insider.

It’s a sale that the Premier League side are only interested in if they can make a huge profit from it.

Forest originally bought the 22-year-old for £10.6million from Corinthians as the central defender signed a five-year deal at the City Ground.

However, Football Insider previously revealed that it’s now “inevitable” that the Brazil international will leave the club after his impressive performances.

Murillo would love the opportunity to play for an elite European club in the Champions League, and Forest are unable to compete with those kinds of offers.

Murillo has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona, while Forest rejected numerous approaches from other Premier League sides during the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest are bracing for life without Murillo

Murillo has played every minute of Forest’s Premier League campaign so far this season, building a strong defensive partnership with Nikola Milenkovic.

The centre-back impressed last season for Forest with his performances, making 185 clearances and boasting a 62% successful tackle rate.

Murillo played in 32 of Forest’s Premier League games last season and also provided two assists.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team have made an impressive start to the 2024-25 campaign, and currently sit eighth in the table.

They will be back in action on Saturday (28 September) against Fulham.
