John Wenham has speculated that Al-Qadsiah could make a move for Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims the 28-year-old needs to be sold before the transfer deadline.
Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge has reported that Tottenham are looking to move both Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilón out of the club before 30 August (via Last Word On Spurs, 25 August).
As per Fabrizio Romano via X (22 August), AS Roma star Paulo Dybala rejected a three-year contract proposal from Al-Qadsiah worth £63million.
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels the Saudi side could now come in for Lo Celso instead.
“Lo Celso absolutely needs to be sold,” Wenham said.
“He only has 10 months left on his contract and he isn’t going to play this season. I could see Al-Qadsiah in Saudi Arabia making a move for the midfielder.
“They were going to sign Dybala, but that move fell through after he rejected their three-year contract proposal which was worth £63million.
“Therefore, if they do now come in for Lo Celso as a backup option, that would be phenomenal.”
Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso to secure big-money move to Al-Qadsiah?
From Spurs’ point of view, they will be desperate to move Lo Celso on. Therefore, any transfer offers would likely be welcomed with open arms in North London.
It is hard to imagine that the club would need much convincing to let the Argentinian go. As a result, negotiations should be pretty straightforward.
And if Al-Qadsiah were to come in for Lo Celso, that would no doubt be music to Spurs’ ears.
The midfielder would likely accept any big-money offer from the Saudi side, especially considering his lack of other options on the table.
It remains to be seen whether or not Al-Qadsiah do make a move. However, one way or another, Lo Celso’s future needs to be resolved before the transfer window slams shut.
In other Tottenham news, Wenham has raved about a teenage sensation at the club after what the player did to a £19million Chelsea signing.
