Player fits preferred Thelwell strategy as Everton mooted to join race for new transfer - report

Hull City winger Jaden Philogene fits the preferred strategy of the Everton Director of Football, Kevin Thelwell, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The news outlet reported on 28 June that the Toffees were considering joining the race for the 22-year-old London-born left-sided attacker.

Thelwell wants to bring in young and promising players and Philogene appears to fit the bill perfectly for him.

The Toffees should prioritise signing Philogene this summer as he would significantly bolster their attacking options.

The 22-year-old winger impressed in the Championship last season, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists for Hull City.

His performances have attracted interest from several clubs who have scouted him over the course of the season.

Philogene’s versatility, pace and ability to play across the front three make him an attractive prospect for the Goodison Park outfit.

He could provide the creativity and goal threat needed to support the team’s offensive efforts and make the side look more fluid in the final third.

Furthermore, the reported £16 million fee as reported by the Daily Mail on 28 June for Philogene represents a reasonable investment, considering his age, potential and the competition for his signature.

Whether or not the club manage to convince him to sign, remains to be seen.
