Rangers loan target Joan Jordan has returned to pre-season training even though Sevilla have told him they do not count on him, according to Estadio Deportivo.
The Spanish news outlet reported on 16 July that the 30-year-old will not just join any other club this summer.
Despite Gers’ offer, he plans to convince Sevilla boss Garcia Pimienta and his priority is to continue at the club where he’s got a deal until 2027.
Joan Jordan does not fully appear convinced to move to Rangers
The Spaniard’s decision to return to pre-season training at Sevilla despite being told he is not part of the club’s plans suggests he is not fully convinced to move to Ibrox.
This indicates that Jordan’s priority is to continue playing for Sevilla, where he has a contract until 2027.
To convince him to join Rangers, the club could offer him a competitive salary package that matches or exceeds his current earnings in Spain.
Additionally, Gers could highlight the potential for more playing time and the opportunity to be a key player in their squad.
They could also emphasise the passionate fan base and the chance to compete for titles in Scotland.
By addressing Jordan’s concerns about his future and presenting a compelling vision for his role at the club, the club may be able to persuade him to make the move.
Philippe Clement must also reach out to the midfielder personally and see what his reservations are.
In other Rangers news, a transfer fee update has emerged as the Ibrox outfit are keen on signing Kenny McLean this summer.
