Player wants transfer to where he's guaranteed game time as Everton strike agreement - reports

Everton target Jaden Philogene will leave Hull City for the club that can guarantee him game time, according to Sky Sports.

The channel shared an update via their transfer centre on 12 July at 16:05 that Aston Villa already have a pre-contract agreement signed by the player while Ipswich Town have also reassured him that he’ll be one of their first choices in attack.

It’s understood that the Toffees also had an £18million deal in principle agreed with Hull City over the sale of the English winger, per Sky Sports on 10 July.

Everton must move on from Jaden Philogene who appears set for Aston Villa

The Toffees should move on from Philogene as he seems set for a return to Aston Villa, where he has already signed a pre-contract agreement before moving to Hull and seems open to return.

Although Everton had an £18million deal in principle agreed, the player’s preference for guaranteed game time and his existing ties with Aston Villa make a move to Goodison Park less likely.

Sean Dyche’s side can now focus their resources on other transfer targets who may be more readily available and willing to join the club.

This shift in focus allows the club to explore alternative options, potentially finding players who can contribute immediately and consistently to the team’s starting lineup.

By reallocating the funds and energy previously directed towards Philogene, they can strengthen their squad with players who are more aligned with the club’s immediate needs and goals.

It remains to be seen how many attacking players join this summer as there is a need to bring in at least two through the door.

In other Everton news, the club have submitted an offer to sign an international striker after the announcement of Iliman Ndiaye.
