Martin Zubimendi may have rejected Liverpool earlier this week, but another of Liverpool’s transfer targets is seemingly pushing for a move to Anfield.
Indeed, Giorgi Mamardashvili has apparently agreed personal terms with Liverpool, and now, the goalkeeper has made a request to Valencia.
Speaking on The Redmen TV, Nacho Sanchis has shared the state of play with Mamardashvili and Liverpool at the moment.
The journalist says the goalkeeper has agreed a contract worth €4m-a-year with the Reds, and he’s actually now directly asked Valencia to sell him to Liverpool.
Giorgi Mamardashvili has asked for Liverpool move
Sanchis shared what he knows about the £30m man.
“What I can tell you know is that Mamardashvili also has an agreement with Liverpool. I even know the salary, it’s €4m for the goalkeeper, but I’m not sure if it’s for six years or five.
“He is keen to go there, he wants to go there. He told Valencia ‘please let me go to Liverpool’. Now Valencia say ‘alright, we might let you go, but we have some red lines we need to complete,’ and they are on it.”
Mamardashvili move looks likely
Mamardashvili wants to join Liverpool, and it sounds as though he will get his wish.
Indeed, Liverpool have already bid for the goalkeeper, and they already have a plan in mind of how to use him, planning to send him out on loan upon his arrival.
The Reds seemingly think that Mamardashvili’s arrival at Anfield is imminent, and it sounds as though it may not be too long before a deal is done.
Of course, as Sanchis says, Valencia have a few issues they need to resolve before they can greenlight this deal, but, by all accounts, this one should be completed before too long.
Liverpool’s first signing of the Arne Slot era could well be a new goalkeeper.
