Richard Keys worries for Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham after he saw a “stoney-faced” Daniel Levy in the defeat against Chelsea on Sunday.
Spurs succumbed to a demoralising 4-3 loss to the Blues at home on 8 December despite taking an early two-goal lead and Keys is smelling trouble for the Greek-Australian manager.
The pundit, who feels Moises Caicedo should have been sent off for a foul on Pape Matar Sarr, also aimed a jibe at the fans of the North London giants, asking if the 59-year-old’s entertaining brand of football is not enough for them.
Taking to his personal blog on Monday [9 December], Keys wrote: “I’m genuinely worried for big Ange now. I didn’t like the TV pictures of a stoney-faced Daniel Levy after Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea. I smell trouble.
“No Spurs fan wants to see their team beaten the way they were yesterday (Sunday) but it was great entertainment – a 7-goal thriller. Isn’t it entertainment that Spurs fans crave?
“I enjoy watching Spurs. They’re direct – but soft. That’s what makes them refreshing for the neutral. But if you’re a fan is it what you want? Or are you missing Conte and Mourinho? Your move Daniel.”

The result saw Spurs fall to 11th place in the Premier League, sitting seven points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
With only one win in five league games, a section of fans are growing increasingly frustrated with Postecoglou’s high-risk, high-reward playing style.
The former Celtic manager is, therefore, under immense pressure in North London 18 months into his tenure as their head coach.
However, Postecoglou retains the full support of the Tottenham board [The Telegraph], contrary to what Keys thinks. Therefore, there are no plans to pull the plug on him at this point in the season.
Spurs are planning for the second half of the season with him at the helm, with meetings with technical director Johan Lange over January transfer plans said to have already taken place.
It remains to be seen if their stance will change if Postecoglou fails to pick up results against Rangers [Thursday, 12 December] and Southampton [15 December].
