Billy Dodds revealed what Sir Alex Ferguson told him that Sean Dyche does “really good” at Everton.

The Blues boss is seemingly “under extreme pressure” with each passing match as his side looks set for another relegation battle this season.

However, there are aspects of the role that Dyche excels in, as Dodds explained live on BBC Scotland [23 November, 3:40pm].

He said: “I received a letter last year from our greatest ever managers (Alex Ferguson) and it was about how you dominate a press conference, how you get your message across.

“He said Sean Dyche was really good at it. Getting your narrative out there.”

Sean Dyche is about to face the gauntlet for Everton

Few still believe that Dyche is the man to lead Everton away from the relegation zone this season, but his future at Goodison Park looks set in stone.

The Esk reported [3 November] that the Toffees’ best players will push for a move away from Merseyside at the end of the season if Dyche remains at the helm.

While the 0-0 draw against Brentford at Goodison Park on Saturday [23 November] can be spun as a commendable result, even with the man advantage for most of the game. this fixture is undoubtedly the easier of the upcoming opponents.

The Blues will face Manchester United, Merseyside rivals Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City heading into the New Year – Dyche would do well to make it to the other side of the schedule with a handful of points on the board.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin continued his woes in front of goal at Goodison Park and can consider himself lucky to be allowed to walk out for the second half; in retrospect, Dyche should have made the change.

Brentford went down to ten men at Goodison Park after Christian Norgaard was dismissed in the final five minutes of the first half, and yet, the Blues could still not get over the line despite the man advantage.

Therefore, Dyche has left himself in a vulnerable position in the Premier League; Everton could find themselves rooted in the relegation zone when Dan Friedkin assumes control of the club, thus ending the time of Dyche’s tenure on Merseyside.

Try as he might, not even Dyche can spin that the way he’d like in his next press conference.

In other Everton news, Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s exit is on the cards at the Toffees as a Fiorentina transfer has been touted.
