'Pushing': Man United now trying to sign £17m player after his move to West Ham collapses

West Ham United have just seen a huge blow to their plans to bring in their fourth signing of the summer.

It has been a bright start to the summer for Julen Lopetegui in east London after being appointed the new West Ham manager.

The Hammers have been proactive in the window with the signings of players like Max Kilman.

Lopetegui has also seen the likes of Luis Guilherme signed as well as Wes Foderingham with their pre-season efforts now well underway.

However, there has been a major setback in their pursuit of one player with Manchester United now pushing for his signature.

West Ham deal now off with Manchester United pushing

The Hammers have already added to their defence with Kilman reuniting with his former Wolves manager, but there is still room for improvement.

Ben Johnson departed the club for Ipswich Town which has left a spot to be filled at right-back which the Hammers will have thought they were about to address.

However, things have suddenly taken a turn for the worse as far as West Ham are concerned with a deal to sign a 26-year-old right-back from Bayern Munich now off the table.

According to Florian Plettenberg, West Ham’s agreement to sign Noussair Mazraoui is now off as Manchester United look to seal his signature.

An agreement on the agent’s side of the deal was unable to be reached despite an agreement being met between the two clubs.

The Hammers had agreed €15.5m (£13.5m)and €4m (£3.5m) in add-ons but the agreement has now totally collapsed.

Now, it looks like Manchester United are trying to steal a march in the race to land the Moroccan.

This has to be a real blow for the Irons who had made such a positive start to the summer window.

The player will have been almost set to have his medical scheduled after an agreement had been reached between the club.

But now, the 26-year-old could find himself playing for one of the clubs who have rivalled West Ham for the European spots in recent years.

The Red Devils have also made good progress this summer with two impressive additions, number three could now be in the works.

And they would not only be landing a player who has played 55 times for bayern Munich, but they would also have the bragging rights over the Hammers.
