Any quickfire sales before June 30th would be helpful for Everton and any future battles with the Premier League’s financial rules, according to the Daily Mail.

The Toffees were docked a total of eight points last season after being found guilty of two separate breaches of Profit and Sustainability rules.

The Toffees have already been a victim of the Premier League financial rules during the 2023/24 season where the Merseyside club were deducted six points.

The Mail reported on their website (20 June) that a “fire sale” is not necessary but that any that get the green light before the accounting deadline at the end of the month will be beneficial in the future.

Which players could Everton lose this summer?

Amadou Onana is one player the Mail stated Everton want to receive £50million for and Arsenal had previously been linked with a move for the midfield ace earlier in the transfer window [Fabrizio Romano, 16 June].

Throughout the 2023/24 season, Onana was one of the top performers for Sean Dyche’s side.

The likes of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite were also impressive as Everton managed to safely navigate away from the relegation zone despite their points deductions.

Which is why it comes as no surprise that Branthwaite is also being linked with a move away from Everton as Manchester United have already had an initial bid rejected from the Toffees [Fabrizio Romano, 15 June].

While there is still a possibility of the duo being sold and leaving two gaping holes in Everton’s squad, the news that the takeover of the club by the Friedkin Group is close to being announced means that at long last there is cause for optimism of a more stable future at Goodison Park.

There’s no doubt that as well as outgoings, there will also be one or two players arriving at Goodison Park for the stadium’s final season of top-flight football before Everton move to their new ground.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have reportedly made an offer to Wifried Ndidi.
