Neil McCann has shared a “remarkable” stat as Rangers prepare to take on Ross County on Sunday.

The Gers travel to Victoria Park on 8 December looking to cut the gap to second-placed Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership table to just two points with a game-in-hand.

Philippe Clement finds himself under intense pressure in the Ibrox dugout but his side have won their last two league games and finally look like they are gaining momentum.

Opposite number Don Cowie will look to change that, though, and he has an impressive record at home as Ross County boss.

“It’s funny. I was looking at the stats and in 16 games he’s had here there’s been only three defeats,” McCann said live on Sky Sports News [8 December, 09:49am]

“It’s quite remarkable. He struggles away from home, but you need to take comfort from your home form and maximise that.”

The Belgian manager remains under pressure, even if results have picked up over the past 10 days or so.

Watching his Gers side has been a chore for the majority of his spell in the dugout and they sit 14 points behind arch-rivals Celtic, albeit with a game in hand.

The victories over Nice in the Europa League and St Johnstone and Kilmarnock domestically have eased the pressure slightly.

However, the League Cup final against Celtic could be his final match in charge of the club if reports are to be believed [6 December, Andrew Newport], with incoming CEO Patrick Stewart starting the day after.

The Belgian has failed to record a victory in five previous attempts against the Gers’ fierce rivals. If he does not win his sixth, it could well be curtains.

His reign has been underwhelming and, even marred by the off-field issues at the club, it is no excuse for how poor results have been.

In other Rangers news, a twist has emerged in the Connor Barron compensation case with Aberdeen.
