Fabrizio Romano shares 'Busy' Everton transfer verdict ahead of 30 August deadline

Everton will be “busy” up until the 30 August transfer deadline with two signings potentially arriving at Goodison Park, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist told Give Me Sport on Saturday (24 August) that the Blues are exploring opportunities before the end of the window and are actively working on potential deals.

Sean Dyche’s side will have to contend with potential profit and sustainability issues at Goodison Park which could make potential incomings difficult, but they are still expected to be active.

Discussing the Toffees, Romano said: “We said about [Kieran] Trippier, but there could also be other possibilities in several different positions. So, I think Everton will be active.”

Will Everton make any new signings before the transfer deadline?

If the transfer window closed today, most Everton fans would be reasonably happy with the Toffees’ business so far this summer in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

While losing Amadou Onana would have come as a blow to Dyche, the Blues pocketed a big fee for his services and that sale has allowed them to keep Jarrad Branthwaite, Jordan Pickford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin on Merseyside.

On top of that, the Toffees have added some genuine depth to their ranks with the signings of Iliman Ndiaye, Tim Iroegbunam and Jake O’Brien. This squad now has everything at its disposal to begin climbing up the Championship table.

Of course, if an opportunity presents itself in the final days of the transfer window, the Blues would be incredibly naive to turn it down and Romano’s comments suggest further business cannot be ruled out.

Hopefully, Everton will be able to get one or two more incoming deals over the line before the window slams shut, but they will almost certainly have one eye on their PSR position as they look to avoid another potential points deduction.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have been told that have priced Branthwaite out of a transfer ahead of the 30 August deadline
