Radu Dragusin makes Tottenham exit decision amid Napoli transfer development

Radu Dragusin will not force a move away from Tottenham in January despite interest from Napoli, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The newspaper reported on 20 October (page 70) that the Romania international doesn’t want to leave Spurs mid-season despite a lack of minutes.

The 22-year-old has multiple Italian sides monitoring his situation in North London with Napoli said to be one of those.

Despite this, the defender looks set to stay put for the season even if he remains on the fringes at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Dragusin looked like an excellent pickup for Ange Postecoglou’s side, especially after a stellar tournament at the European Championships.

The former Genoa ace has shown exactly why Spurs opted to buy him at different points with his country despite failing to do so for his club.

This has seen him limited to just 99 Premier League minutes so far this season with just one appearance coming as a start.

In fairness to the Romanian, he is currently playing second fiddle to Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven who have been superb under Postecoglou.

As a result, the 22-year-old is always going to struggle for regular minutes but it appears as if he is willing to stick things out in North London.

It could prove to be a mistake for Dragusin to leave and return to Italy just 12 months after moving to England given he has only played 13 games for the club.

If he can be patient, there is always likely to be a chance to prove himself and his worth to this Spurs side.
