'Hand is forced' - Wenham wants Daniel Levy meeting made public after Tottenham controversy

John Wenham believes Daniel Levy’s “hand is forced” after the Tottenham chairman agreed to meet with the club’s Fan Advisory Board.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose wants to see minutes from the meeting made public.

As reported via Football London (17 October), the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust are unhappy with current ticketing prices in North London. However, they are hopeful of change with Levy having agreed to meet with the Fan Advisory Board.

But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t believe the Spurs chairman had much choice.

“I’m not surprised by this,” Wenham said.

“With recent protests at the stadium and ongoing unrest among fans, his hand is forced.

“However, while he might meet and hear what people have to say, I’m sure he will be ready with his answers as to why Tottenham have done what they have done.

“It will be an interesting conversation and I’d love to see the minutes from that published and made public.”

Spurs continue to generate huge sums of money thanks to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Therefore, it is understandable that Spurs supporters feel hard done by as ticket prices continue to rise.

As a result, it is not a surprise to see Levy agree to a meeting to try and smooth some tension. However, whether or not anything changes remains to be seen.

Sitting down and listening to concerns is one thing. However, acting on those concerns is a whole different story.

And Levy’s recent comments suggest he isn’t one to respond well to criticism.
