Rangers fans have been left fuming at the board after key transfer target Jose Cordoba rejected a move to Ibrox in favour of joining Norwich.

Cordoba, 23, had been earmarked as a top target for Philippe Clement, and despite initial confidence a deal would be done, he has now made the move to England.

The centre-back had been invited to watch a game live at Ibrox during talks with the club, such was the confidence that a deal would be completed.

Having missed out on an important target so early in the transfer window, fans at Ibrox cannot believe they missed out on a signing to a side in the Championship.

As reported by Football Insider, Rangers are set to back Clement in the transfer market as he targets a major squad overhaul.

However, missing out on Cordoba represents a “massive blow” to the rebuilding process, with fans labelling the board “ridiculous”, “embarrassing” and “humiliating”.

Its got nothing to do with who he is, its what it symbolises. He was clearly identified as a priority signing by Koppen. He was brought over for the VIP Ibrox treatment and we moved early.
