'Best in the business': BBC pundit says £60m star reportedly wanted by Arsenal and Spurs has unmatchable skills

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy in the transfer window this summer as they look to strengthen their respective squads.

The Gunners have improved with each passing season that Mikel Arteta has been in charge, and they’ll want to finally win the Premier League title next term.

Meanwhile, Spurs did well in Ange Postecoglou’s maiden season in charge of the Lilywhites, finishing fifth and qualifying for the Europa League.

However, Tottenham were in the top-four picture for most of the campaign, so they’ll want to make sure they can last the distance next time.

Both Arsenal and Spurs have been linked with one of the Premier League’s top talents, a player who BBC Sport pundit Pat Nevin has now described as the “best in the business”.

Pat Nevin hails Arsenal and Tottenham target Eberechi Eze

The player in question is Eberechi Eze, who has been sensational for Crystal Palace in recent years.

According to The Guardian, Arsenal are considering a move for the 26-year-old, who is ‘likely to cost more than £60million’.

Meanwhile, TBR Football revealed earlier in June that Tottenham have made enquiries about the England international.

Palace, who are set to lose Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, are now bracing themselves for approaches for Eze as well.

Eze is currently on England duty at Euro 2024, with the knockout stage of the competition getting under way on Saturday.

BBC Sport previewed the last-16 ties, and Nevin, one of the pundits taking part in the program, spoke highly about the reported Arsenal and Tottenham target.

“I don’t think there is a better player that people can buy than Eze,” he said. “I think he is the best in the business there is just right now.

I don’t think anyone has actually got more skills than him in that sort of area. He has not had an opportunity yet.”

Eze one of the Premier League’s most highly sought-after players

Eze has gone from strength to strength at Palace and there’s no doubt that he is now ready to join one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Arsenal and Tottenham will both fancy their chances of signing him, though with the likes of Manchester City also said to be in the running, competition will be fierce.

And with Palace set to lose Olise to Bayern this summer, it remains to be seen whether this means they’ll be more eager to hang on to Eze beyond transfer deadline day.
