Rangers will need to pay a small compensation fee as they have announced the deal to sign AC Milan defender Clinton Nsiala, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

The Belgian journalist claimed that the 20-year-old’s medical has been scheduled ahead of him joining Ibrox in the summer.

He will be the third permanent signing for the club this summer with Jefte joining and Oscar Cortes also being signed.

Via Twitter, Tavolieri, a Belgian journalist wrote: “More on Clinton Nsiala to #RangersFC News already Confirmed the Scottish club! Rangers are going to pay only (and a small amount) on training compensation. It’s a 4 years contract.”

Clinton Nsiala is one for the present and future of Rangers

The fact that things have moved so quickly and a medical has been scheduled suggests that intensive work has taken place behind the scenes.

The 20-year-old was not among the prominent transfer targets and fans will be surprised that things have progressed so fast.

Usually, there is a barrage of media reports before a player agrees on personal terms but it’s good that the club managed to keep things quiet.

With James Bisgrove leaving for life-changing money in Saudi Arabia, there were fears over whether or not it would hamper the club’s plans this summer.

As things stand, it does not seem to have had an impact and Philippe Clement will be delighted at the efficiency of his side getting things done.

There’s a need for three or four more signings this summer and they should get done with it as soon as possible rather than leaving things too late.

In other Rangers news, a Premier League midfielder with “great quality” is now up for grabs this summer amid a recent development with a move to Ibrox on the cards.
