Rangers sources claim they have made significant progress in the process to hire a new CEO, according to the Daily Mail.
The news outlet reported on 7 November that the club are close to bringing in someone to succeed James Bisgrove for Saudi club Al-Qadsiah in May.
John Bennett filled in during his absence but then had to step down as chairman due to health reasons, leaving John Gilligan in charge on an interim basis.
Rangers cannot hire a new CEO any sooner amid the current shambles
The appointment of a new CEO is urgently needed as the club have been navigating through a period of instability, with a lack of consistent leadership following Bisgrove’s departure.
This vacancy has coincided with a time when Gers need strong strategic direction both on and off the pitch.
The interim leadership, while commendable, is not a substitute for a permanent, dedicated CEO who can provide stability and professional management.
Hopefully, the new CEO will be pivotal in making crucial appointments across various departments, from football operations to commercial ventures, ensuring that the club’s operations are streamlined and effective.
This role would not just be an administrative one but would be key to fostering a culture of success that can propel Rangers forward.
With the new year approaching and considering the club’s ambitions for both domestic and European competitions, having a CEO in place is essential for them to meet their goals.
In other Rangers, a “progressive” manager has been linked to take over from Philippe Clement after rejecting a job elsewhere.
