Rangers are keen on securing the services of Salernitana defender Domagoj Bradaric on a loan-to-buy basis, according to Index.

The Daily Record [18 August] quoted the Croatian news outlet that claim the 24-year-old is valued at £4.2million by the Italian club.

It’s understood that Salernitana are pushing for an obligation to buy as they want to be guaranteed a future fee for the Croatia international.

Domagoj Bradaric is a player that makes sense for Rangers

Jefte arrived at Ibrox this summer but if Philippe Clement prefers playing him in a more advanced role, it makes sense to bring in a new left-back, particularly given Ridvan Yilmaz’s injury woes.

Signing Bradaric would make sense given his experience in both Serie A with Salernitana and Ligue 1 with Lille means he’s accustomed to high-pressure environments, which is crucial for the intensity of the Scottish Premiership, especially in Old Firm derbies.

At 24 years old, Bradaric is at an age where he can still develop further, potentially becoming a long-term asset for the club.

His international experience with Croatia’s youth teams and the senior side indicates a level of skill and maturity that could strengthen Gers’ backline.

His pace, defensive solidity and ability to contribute in the final third could significantly improve the Ibrox outfit’s play, both in domestic competitions and in Europe, where depth and quality in squad positions are vital for success.

Also if Yilmaz does end up leaving in the coming days, it almost becomes imperative for a new left-back to be signed.

In other Rangers news, a midfielder wanted by Gers is finally set to seal his multi-million transfer before the 30 August deadline.
