Report: Arsenal have ‘concrete interest’ in Premier League attacker with £85m release clause

Arsenal are already plotting their Janaury transfer business.

After a really poor start to the season, Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League title are already damaged.

The Gunners reside in fourth, nine points adrift of the league leaders Liverpool heading into the international break.

It’s become evident that Arsenal need further reinforcements in January if they’re to claw back the point gap.

A striker should be top of that list but it’s just emerged that they’re really keen on signing a Premier League playmaker.

Arsenal have concrete interest in Mohamed Kudus

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal have a ‘concrete interest’ in West Ham United’s star player Mohamed Kudus.

The Ghanaian has impressed since arriving from Ajax in a £38m switch during the summer of 2023, registering 23 goal involvements in 55 outings.

That’s alerted interest from not just The Gunners, but also title rivals Liverpool ahead of the January transfer window.

A mid-season exit is unlikely but West Ham are braced for offers next summer and will demand that his £85m release clause is met if he is to leave.

Kudus wants to play Champions League football

Whilst Kudus is happy and settled at West Ham, he is ‘fully’ open to leaving for a team that plies their trade in the Champions League.

So quite clearly, if Arsenal were agree a deal with The Hammers, personal terms shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Perhaps the draw of remaining in London would give them the edge over Liverpool, too, so it seems like a transfer that could genuinely materialise.
