Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta may well look at strengthening his ranks in the January transfer window in a bid to get their season back on track.
The Gunners have suffered a downturn in form and now sit nine points off top spot in the Premier League table, as well as losing to Inter Milan in the Champions League.
With that in mind, the upcoming window presents an opportunity for Arsenal to bolster their squad so they can be more resistant to losing players to injury and suspension.
According to CaughtOffside, the Gunners have set their sights on some players from La Liga, including one deemed ‘the complete modern-day attacking midfielder’.

Arsenal set sights on Las Palmas gem Alberto Moleiro
The player in question is Alberto Moleiro, who has made a real name for himself at Las Palmas.
Arsenal have reportedly had their scouts watch the 21-year-old in action in recent weeks, though Newcastle United apparently did the same.
The Gunners and the Magpies are said to be the only clubs that have dispatched scouts to watch Moleiro live, though a host of other elite teams are said to be in pursuit.
Premier League giants Manchester City and Liverpool apparently keen on Moleiro, as are Atletico Madrid, Inter, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Roma and Villarreal.
Arsenal are also said to be keeping tabs on Williot Swedberg, who plays for Celta Vigo and represents Sweden at international level.
Other midfielders have been linked with the North Londoners. For instance, Arsenal are said to be eyeing Valencia’s Javi Guerra.
Who is Arsenal target Alberto Moleiro?
Moleiro is a 21-year-old professional footballer who plays for Las Palmas and has represented Spain’s Under-21s at professional level.
He was born in Tenerife on 30 September 2003 and began his football journey with Sobradillo before joining Las Palmas’ youth setup in 2018.
Moleiro broke into the first team in 2021 and has made a real name for himself as one of La Liga’s best up-and-coming talents.
He has already clocked up 124 competitive appearances for Las Palmas, registering 11 goals and 13 assists along the way.
Siva Vishwa of Breaking The Lines has described Moleiro as ‘the complete modern-day attacking midfielder, constantly looking to take on opponents and keep the ball moving up front.
Vishwa continued: ‘He positions himself in a way to get the ball and make swift turns with his first touch, creating enough space for him to move the ball into the final third.
‘Moleiro shows his awareness in scanning the pitch before receiving the ball to make quick turns, and his impressive first touch allows him to create space and time for himself before taking on players with ease and advancing through the middle third of the pitch.
‘The Spaniard is a physically imposing player who has immense technique to hold the ball under pressure and glide past defenders using both his feet.’
