Report: Johan Lange wants to sign 'unstoppable' player as a 'replacement' for Heung-min Son at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur director Johan Lange views one of Ange Postecoglou’s key targets as a ‘replacement’ for skipper Hueng-min Son.

Spurs have been busy in this summer’s transfer window. They have let go quite a few players already and have brought in the likes of Timo Werner and Archie Gray – the former on loan.

Tottenham, who have won all three of their pre-season games, aren’t done with their business. They are still keen to add multiple players in the coming weeks.

One of them is reportedly being pursued to replace Son.

Johan Lange wants Eberechi Eze to replace Heung-min Son

Eberechi Eze is a wanted man in this summer transfer window.

The Crystal Palace star, branded as ‘unstoppable’ by Pat Nevin on BBC Sport, had an incredible 2023/24 campaign. He is among the most exciting players to watch in the Premier League, and a number of clubs are chasing him.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move to sign Eze this summer – he is one of Postecoglou’s key targets in this window.

TBR Football exclusively revealed that Tottenham have made an enquiry to sign Eze, and the attacker is open to leaving Palace.

Football Transfers have now shared an update on Tottenham and Eze.

The outlet claims that Lange is ‘exploring heavily’ the potential signing of the England international as a ‘replacement’ for club captain Son.

The South Korean is arguably Tottenham’s best player and was even their top scorer in the 2023/24 season. He is nearly irreplaceable at Spurs, but he is 32 already.

The report suggests that is the reason why Tottenham are pushing to sign Eze this summer.

One club is dreaming about signing Son

Tottenham are set to trigger a one-year extension in Son’s contract – his current deal will expire in July 2025.

The 32-year-old is still one of the first names on the team sheet at Spurs. He has been unbelievable for them over the years and has done really well after taking over as the club captain as well.

However, Son is not short of admirers.

Reports have claimed that Saudi Arabian giants Al-Ahli are dreaming about signing the South Korean, but there is absolutely no chance that Tottenham will sell Son in this window.

Spurs, however, should still sign Eze.

We think the Englishman would be excellent in the same team as Son, and if Lange really sees him as a good enough player to take the Korean’s place, he can do that when the Tottenham skipper eventually leaves.
