Report: Leeds now want to sign £10m player who made his league's Team of the Season last term
????
Leeds now want to sign a player who was one of the best in the Championship last season.
Daniel Farke is looking to bounce back from the heartbreak of losing to Southampton at Wembley – and also the pain of losing Archie Gray to Tottenham – by bolstering his side strong enough for another shot at promotion.
So, which Championship star are Leeds now hoping to sign? Let’s take a look…
Leeds want Gabriel Sara
A story from Corriere dello Sport (print version, page 31) now claims that Leeds are rivalling Atalanta for the signing of Gabriel Sara.
The Italian news outlet believe Crystal Palace, Leicester and Galatasaray are also looking to sign the Brazilian this summer.
Sara shone for Norwich throughout the 2023/24 campaign, scoring 13 goals while also providing 12 assists in 46 Championship appearances.
Two of those goal involvements came as Norwich suffered a 3-2 defeat against Leeds at Carrow Road, with the South American setting up one goal before scoring another to put the Canaries 2-0 ahead, before the Whites came back to win.

Sara – who Norwich signed from São Paulo for £10m in July 2022 – earned a spot in the Championship Team of the Season alongside Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Ethan Ampadu for his outstanding efforts.
Brazilian would take Leeds up a level
In our view, signing Sara could well fire Leeds to promotion this season.
Farke is severely lacking a goalscoring outlet in central midfield, with Glen Kamara – who has since left for Rennes – and Ilia Gruev netting just a single goal between them last term.
Therefore, Sara – who made 41 appearances in central midfield last season – should offer a more threatening presence in that area for Leeds if he arrived at Elland Road, taking the attacking burden away from the forwards.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Leeds compete against UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta, Crystal Palace, Leicester and Galatasaray for the South American’s signature this summer.
