‘He’s an amazing player’: Lucas Bergvall says he has a great connection with £25m Tottenham man in training

New Tottenham Hotspur signing Lucas Bergvall has certainly made a comfortable start to life at the club, not deterred by the jump up in class.
With all respect to Sweden’s Allsvenskan, Bergvall is now experiencing a different level of football at 18-years-old, thrown into the deep end in some respects.
Fortunately, the Sweden international arrived in north London incredibly match sharp given he had just began the new league season with Djurgarden, starring in their first 12 games, scoring three goals from midfield.
It seemed like a clear indicator when Bergvall was handed the #15 shirt by Tottenham this season, one befitting a first team player.
And Bergvall’s minutes for Postecoglou in the club’s pre-season friendlies have since justified that call, a big hope for the future.
That being said, the Swede will still need to make considerable progress before he’s ready to start in the Premier League regularly.
And a lot of that development will come in training, when Bergvall will be exposed to a big step up in competition.

Having now had a decent period of time with his new Tottenham teammates, Bergvall pointed out the connection he’s built with Yves Bissouma in training.
Bergvall was speaking to football.london as Spurs prepare to face a K-League XI for their next pre-season outing.

And when speaking at length around a variety of topics including captain Son Heung-min’s influence, Bergvall mentioned how good Bissouma had been.
The youngster said £25m Bissouma had been ‘amazing’ and pointed out that the midfielder liked to progress the ball just as fast as him.
Asked about a pep talk he appeared to have with Bissouma before beating QPR recently, Bergvall shared: “It was about the game and he said to play like we had in training.
“We’d had a good connection [on the training ground] and to play fast and take the ball forward.
“He’s an amazing player. Really good with the ball and off the ball as well, so it really helps to have a player like that.”
Of course, the connection between the two bodes very well for Tottenham given the duo could easily line up alongside each other on occasion this season.
That being said, Archie Gray will be another exciting talent competing for minutes in the middle.
And Gray has now been lauding a different Tottenham player for their ‘incredible’ levels behind the scenes.
