Report: Newcastle looking to strike a deal for 'brilliant' attacker who Tottenham want to sign this summer
Big money being discussed... ????
Newcastle United’s summer in the transfer market is yet to really get up and running with no major signings made.
Eddie Howe has publicly expressed his frustrations by putting some pressure on the Newcastle board to make some moves.
“As long as I’m happy in the position that I’m in. As long as I feel supported by the football club and free to work in the way that I want to work, yes. That is the crucial thing,” Howe recently told the media.
However, these moves are yet to come with just two weeks separating the Magpies and their season opener against Southampton.
Minimal business has been done despite Newcastle emerging out the other end of their PSR scares in June.
But it seems as if there is one player which Newcastle are targeting who they may face some stern competition from in Tottenham Hotspur.
Newcastle eyeing move for £65m forward wanted by Tottenham
Although it has been a quiet start to the summer for Newcastle, there could be a big addition heading to St James’ Park.
Newcastle have opened talks with Crystal Palace for the services of centre-back Marc Guehi.
He is another player who would not come cheap this summer if the Toon were able to pull off their interest in the England international.
But when it comes to another summer target, Newcastle will have to cough up big time as well as needing to beat a Tottenham side who can boast European football ahead of the new season.

According to GiveMeSport, Newcastle are keen to strike a deal with Bournemouth for the signature of Dominic Solanke.
However, Bournemouth are not looking to negotiate for anything less than Solanke’s £65m release clause this summer.
Tottenham are now exploring a possible move for Solanke as they aim to bolster their front line.
But it looks like any side is going to have to dig deep if they are to land the Englishman over the coming weeks.
Dominic Solanke enjoyed impressive 2023/24 season
In what was a much-improved Bournemouth side last season, Solanke seriously impressed as he led the Cherries to a 12th placed finish.
Solanke may have only netted 29 goals in his Premier League career but 19 of those came during the 2023/24 campaign.
The Englishman has been hailed as ‘brilliant’ and could prove to be a solid signing for a side battling for Europe.
But, given Bournemouth don’t want to negotiate, £65m would be a big amount of money to spend on a player who has only shown his ability in one top flight term.
