TalkSPORT pundit says Arsenal have now done something truly 'exemplary' in the transfer window

Arsenal are fine-tuning their preparations ahead of the start of a big season, with the Gunners expected to impress on four fronts.

Mikel Arteta’s charges are back in England after wrapping up their pre-season tour of the United States.

Arsenal are also expected to be busy in the transfer market over the coming weeks as Edu looks to bring in more quality.

The Gunners have moved a number of players on this summer, with Emile Smith Rowe swapping north London for Fulham this week.

The Hale End graduate secured a move to Craven Cottage in a deal reportedly worth £34million.

A talkSPORT pundit has now spoken about how Arsenal have treated Smith Rowe in terms of his transfer away from the Emirates.

Darren Ambrose hails “exemplary” Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe treatment

Darren Ambrose, speaking on talkSPORT – as per their YouTube channel – described Arsenal’s treatment of Smith Rowe as “exemplary”.

This is in contrast to Chelsea’s stance towards Conor Gallagher, who has been told he will not be training with the first-team, according to the same outlet.

“The way they have treated, Arsenal have treated one of their homegrown talents coming through the academy is exemplary,” Ambrose said of the Gunners and Smith Rowe.

“Yes, he has moved on, absolutely, he has moved on for his own development and I think they knew that he wasn’t going to get the game time that he deserves maybe, so move on to another Premier League club.

“They didn’t stick around and sell him abroad or wait for offers somewhere else.”

Smith Rowe has opportunity to shine

Ambrose is spot on with regards to Arsenal’s treatment of Smith Rowe.

They could’ve easily gone down the route of exiling him from the first-team, play hardball over his signature or seek a bidder abroad, but instead they were happy to sell him to Fulham.

Smith Rowe now has the opportunity to kickstart his career whilst still in the Premier League, and he doesn’t even have to change cities.

Arsenal even bid him a very heartfelt farewell with their social media content, which shows how much he means to the club.
