Report: Radu Dragusin has made his mind up about his Tottenham future in January

Radu Dragusin’s time in North London has been quite underwhelming so far with the Romanian defender struggling to establish himself as a starter.

The defender has looked promising when he’s been given a chance to play by Ange Postecoglou, however, he finds himself firmly behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order.

The 22-year-old’s minutes have been limited to playing just in cup and European competitions and in his last outing, he was shown a straight red card against Qarabag.

Now, ahead of the January transfer window, Dragusin has made his decision as to what he plans to do with clubs from Italy interested in him.

Radu Dragusin’s January transfer decision

Dragusin has decided he does not want to leave Tottenham in January and is keen to fight for his place in Postecoglou’s team, according to the Daily Mirror.

He has plenty of interest from Italian clubs, including Napoli, who want to bring him back to the Serie A just a year on from his move to England.

But despite that, he remains committed to Spurs and is focused on showing why he should be given chances over Van de Ven or Romero.

Dragusin’s suspension is just a one-match ban so he is now back and he will be available to play again, which is a big boost for Spurs as they face four games in 10 days.

He is likely to feature against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League and then in the Carabao Cup fourth-round clash with Manchester City.

How Tottenham could line-up vs AZ Alkmaar

Richarlison is set to make his first start of the season having finally recovered from a knock which kept him out of action for the Lilywhites’ last nine matches.

Heung-min Son could also be given more minutes as he looks to get back up to speed following a short spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

Dragusin, Ben Davies, Archie Gray, Rodrigo Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall are set to be among the other players set to return to the team against the Dutch team.

Tottenham’s predicted line-up vs AZ Alkmaar: Vicario; Udogie, Davies, Dragusin, Gray; Bentancur, Sarr, Bergvall; Johnson, Son, Richarlison.
