Ryan Kent will not return to Rangers after his Fenerbache contract was terminated, according to The Fourth Official.

The outlet reported via X on Friday (18 October) that the English winger will not end up at Ibrox after his £45,000-a-week contract with the Turkish club was mutually terminated after a slow start to the season.

During his time in Glasgow, the former Liverpool man was paid £25,000-a-week and reports have suggested the Light Blues are on alert after news emerged about his surprise Fenerbache exit [Scottish Sun, 17 October].

Rangers supporters will likely be split on whether or not Philippe Clement and his recruitment team at Ibrox should be considering bringing Kent back to Ibrox this season, whether that be on a short or long-term deal.

While the Englishman would certainly add a different and exciting option to the Belgian’s frontline, he was allowed to leave Glasgow for a reason and it is unclear whether or not the circumstances have now changed.

Clement already has plenty of streaky wingers at his disposal. The likes of Rabbi Matondo and Oscar Cortes have been excellent when fit, but have spent longer on the treatment table than they have the playing field this term.

Kent would of course give the Gers some greater depth out wide, however, his form since moving to Tukrkey has been less than impressive and may well suggest that his time at the top level has been and gone.

At this stage, it would certainly come as a surprise if any deal was agreed imminently, with the signs from in and around Ibrox suggesting there is little desire from either the club or the player to get this deal over the line.

Of course, things can change very quickly in football so this situation could evolve very quickly if contact is initiated by either party.
