Rangers are unlikely to allow Hamza Igamane to leave in the upcoming January transfer window, according to Graeme Bailey.
The forward has been linked with an Ibrox exit thanks to his recent impressive form with Everton even sending scouts to watch the Moroccan in the Gers’ Europa League clash against Tottenham last week.
Others such as Cyriel Dessers have also been rumoured to be on the cusp of a Rangers exit in the upcoming window but it seems that Igamane isn’t likely to go anywhere.
Speaking to Everton News (18 December), Bailey shared what he has heard about the current situation of the 22-year-old.
“Igamane is a hugely impressive young forward, he really has stood out for Rangers this year and it’s not a surprise to see him attracting interest,” he said.
“I am told Everton watched him against Spurs, but that isn’t the first time they have watched. Hard to see Rangers letting him out in January, but one to keep an eye on.”
Philippe Clement cannot allow Hamza Igamane to leave Rangers
One of the only reasons that Rangers’ form has been turned around in recent weeks is because of the form Igamane has found himself in.
Across the rest of the season, Clement’s attacking line has been a thorn in his side with fans often getting frustrated at the lack of composure players such as Dessers have shown in the final third.
At the moment, these are all just rumours but if the 22-year-old keeps up this level of form for the rest of the season, he could be worth at least double what Clement paid for the striker in the summer.
If the Belgian does end up allowing Igamane to leave in January, it feels like it would be a massive mistake on his behalf.
It would also be the beginning of the end for Rangers’ slim chances of getting back involved with the title race.
If anything, as the winter transfer window is now just around the corner, it feels like the 50-year-old needs to add more talent to his ranks rather than get rid of it as the Ibrox outfit have been known to do over the last few years.
In other Rangers news, a Philippe Clement sack verdict has emerged amid an “unsurvivable” admission.
